my name is matt baumann. thank you all so much for visiting me here.

my music is about solitude. real, desolate solitude. my favorite musicians were, and are always the ones unafraid to confront themselves...solo.

the music i play is heavily influenced by great open spaces, places of desolation, deserts, sky, wind-swept plains. to achieve the feelings and longing associated with those places i use a more broad, open kind of sound, and modern saxophone techniques like key clicks, breath effects, 1/4 tones, and multiphonics to help create distance and echoes in the music.

i have released eight albums to date and all are available under the "albums" tab should the desire take you...there is even a free release in there.
