my name is matt baumann

and this music is about solitude; both personal and desolate.

my favorite musicians always have been those individuals unafraid to confront themselves solo.

the music i play is heavily influenced by great open spaces, places of desolation, deserts, sky, wind-swept plains, and anything and everywhere empty and full.

to create the distance and echoes in the music, i use a broad open kind of sound, with modern saxophone techniques like key clicks, breath effects, 1/4 tones, and multiphonics.

i have released eight albums to date and all are available under the "albums" tab. should the mood strike you, there is even a free release in there.
